Limited Capacity full

Ever feel like you are chasing the moments when you are working with a family? Or wonder what decisions to make when simultaneous moments are happening during a session? Join Lacey Monroe and Jessica Thomason as they discuss the importance of anticipation, patience, and knowing when and what moments to shoot. In this group shooting program, Felicia and Jessica will photograph a family in a home-like environment. Learn about artistic voice and vision, and how it affects what is important for each person to capture. Learn about in-camera choices, light, and composition, as well as how to choose what moments to shoot.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how to anticipate what potential moments may unfold in a given scene by discussing what the subjects are doing and what would typically happen with children’s behavior and reactions.
2. Learn to manage light and composition and determine the best places to be for when the moment happens.
3. Through careful observation of interactions between subjects, learn how to be deliberate about which moments to shoot (i.e. shooting less often, shooting subjects’ reactions not what they are doing).
4. For any moments occurring, learn how to be mindful of why it is important to you, what you want to say as an artist, and how these considerations affect the technical and creative choices used to convey your perspective of that moment.
