Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity full

Working with directional window light allows a photographer to create a variety of moods within their imagery. In this program, participants will learn techniques for creating cohesive portraits that tell strong stories through purposeful light use and subject mood and expression considerations. The class will include group lecture time as well as hands on shooting of teenage/adult models in several lighting situations. Participants should have a firm grasp of shooting in manual mode and consider themselves an intermediate or above skill level. Bringing a camera and lens that will allow comfortable compositions in an indoor space is encouraged.

This class will cover:
-How to utilize the Inverse Square Law to control mood in imagery
-What makes an effective silhouette indoors
-Several methods of utilizing backlight indoors
-Checklist for creating a cohesive portrait imagery

For the past four years Megan has taught Shooting 201: Mastering Natural Light Indoors and credits her students as a continual source of inspiration and motivation. When she isn’t chasing one of her 3 little boys (sometimes with a camera… but often, simply chasing…) Megan loves to cuddle up with a cup of coffee fresh from the Moka pot and a good book. | | Natural Light | Nikon | Film | Travel
