The Sibling Connection: Documenting Relationships In Early Childhood (Jennifer Kielich)

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Learn how to gently guide young siblings through an indoor lifestyle session. We will be using young models (ages 2-5) to document organic interactions in various lighting conditions, while focusing on the tools needed to navigate your own successful lifestyle sessions. The class will start with a short introduction, followed by a shooting demonstration, and then we'll break into small groups to take turns photographing our models. Because our models will be so young, we will not have more than 3-4 attendees shooting at once (we don't want to overwhelm them or distract them from interacting with one another). This will also provide each attendee a better shooting experience since there will be more room to get creative! Attendees should have experience shooting in manual mode. Please bring your camera and at least one wide angle lens.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how to communicate with young children in order to facilitate natural interaction and heartwarming moments.
2. Learn how to use the environment itself to add more layers to the story.
3. Learn to let go of traditional expectations by embracing body language and posture (faceless images).
4. Learn to think outside the box with regard to composition in order to make the story more compelling.
5. Learn to add depth to your images by utilizing higher ISO settings.
