This session will include a demonstration and plenty of hands-on shooting. We'll be covering how you can make a variety of beautiful, multi-subject images using minimal space and simple window light. You'll have the opportunity to photograph a mother and young child, gaining a better idea of how to naturally guide your subjects based on the light you're given. You can't always predict the lighting conditions, so it's important to understand how light works and how to best utilize what you have. There are so many images that can be made in a short amount of time if subject connection and light are understood.
My goal is for you to feel confident when you walk into any space, and be able to create diversity without uncertainty. This class is ideal for anyone who would like to offer shorter (mini) sessions that capture an intimate and personal feel or photographers who wish to offer in-home family sessions.
It's highly recommended that you are comfortable shooting in manual mode. The recommended focal lengths for this class are 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm.

Learning Objectives:
1) To study where natural window light falls, based on where the subject is placed in relation to the source.
2) To understand how light works when there are multiple subjects and how to naturally guide clients so the light falls beautifully on them.
3) To study angles and properly choose lenses for a small spaces.
4) To expose properly in camera based on highlights or shadows, creating a variety different images.
5) To build confidence so that natural, connected portraits can be made within a client's home.
