We will explore urban locations and see how we can use them to create beautifully unique portraits. Our couple will be styled with a PNW theme in mind. Bre will help guide us to fun pockets of light, assist with flattering poses, and show how to use urban locations. Depending on the weather, we will either play with sunlight or play with low light, because when you're shooting an actual wedding you have to work with what you've got! Attendees can expect to shoot a lot, as Bre will step back after she's assisted with posing. Our models will be uniquely "Seattle!" Attendees are encouraged to bring at least one wide lens and one long lens.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how to use the light you are given.
2. Learn how to pose wedding clients in ways that are flattering and genuinely comfortable for them.
3. Learn how to use an urban environment to create unique wedding-day portraits.
Location:
This outdoor Boutique Program will take place around Pike Place Market, the Gum Wall and Post Alley, and/or the waterfront.
This urban area provides a lot of opportunities for interesting backgrounds and is only a few blocks away from the Westin. Pike Place Market is a busy urban market that is an iconic tourist destination. The Gum Wall and Post Alley provide interesting urban street scenes, as well as great color and texture. Beyond the Market, Gum Wall, and Post Alley, your group may venture down to the waterfront. The waterfront boardwalk area is a lovely place for capturing scenic shots of the sky, cityscape, and the ferris wheel. Please note that there are many steps required to get from the market to the waterfront. There is a small elevator available. It will take approximately 10-15 minutes to walk to Pike Place Market from the Westin, and the waterfront is an additional 10 minutes beyond the Market. To return to the Westin from the waterfront at the conclusion of the program (remember this walk is uphill), please budget 20-25 minutes.
