Tiffany will teach her approach to shooting macro photography, emphasizing the importance of using manual focus, trying various angles, and paying attention to background and composition. You will learn about depth of field, and how it operates very differently for macro compared to portrait photography. Tiffany will demonstrate how she shoots flowers with a third hand tool, how to use of manual focus, how to capture a variety of angles and backgrounds, and how to work with light. There will be several "stations" for participants to practice shooting, get hands-on help, and ask questions as needed. Tiffany will demonstrate advanced techniques including reverse freelensing and focus stacking (without a tripod). Participants will learn editing steps and tips for macro photos, and will gain access to a private Facebook group with several macro editing videos (including the editing portion of focus stacking) after the conference.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will learn the technicalities of macro photography, including how settings and focus operate in unique ways for this genre.
2. Participants will learn how depth of field operates for macro photography, and how to select the correct depth to obtain the look they want.
3. Participants will learn how to frame interesting macro photos and minimize distractions.
4. Participants will learn about macro lighting techniques (both natural and artificial).
5. Participants will learn advanced macro techniques including reverse freelensing and focus stacking.
