Limited Capacity filling up

Capturing a child's true personality is not an experience reserved just for lifestyle and documentary photographers. Every parent wants you to capture their child’s authentic self and his or her real connection to their family. They want to see the real smiles, not the “for-the-camera” smiles. They want the session to be relaxed and as fun-filled as possible for the entire family. Join Virginia Greuloch as she demonstrates how to use child-led methods in a photography session with a child. Capture the child's authentic joy while incorporating movement to create modern children's portraiture. Creating opportunities for children and families to play together can give families memories that will last forever - and not just because it was the day that the photographer was there. They will remember that it was a day that they came together to laugh and to play and to love each other. Learn how to use the power of play in this shooting demo/group shoot program with kids in order to make a portrait photography session that will create images and memories that last a lifetime.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn to establish trust with the children you are photographing.
2. Learn to incorporate a play-based, child-centered approach to photography.
3. Gain tips and tools to encourage playfulness with children and genuine connections with the whole family.
4. Find new ways to encourage playfulness in older children and adults.
5. Learn to photograph a series to later be printed and used for a gallery wall, image box, or album to sell to the client after the session is completed.
6. Use a shot list to create a complete session that highlights relationships with everyone in the entire family.
7. Use the play-based approach to photograph child models in an outdoor environment.

Location:
This outdoor Boutique Program will take place at Seattle Center.

The Seattle Center requires a brief ride (approximately 2-3 minutes) on a nearby monorail train that runs on a loop and departs approximately every 10 minutes from the Westlake Center Mall (across the street from the Westin). Travel time can range from approximately 15-24 minutes, depending on group size, how quickly the group moves, and how quickly the group can board the monorail. The Seattle Center is massive with tons of usable shooting space, from green park-like areas to funky walls and sculptures. The Space Needle is located within the Seattle Center. Attendees in programs taking place at the Seattle Center will be provided a round trip ticket for the monorail at the beginning of the program. The group will travel together to the Seattle Center. After the program concludes, attendees may travel back to the Westin at their leisure.
